“Wednesday’s Child” Hope for Haiti Gala Concert

On May 8th at 7:00 p.m, The American School of Warsaw will host “Wednesday’s Child” Hope for Haiti Gala Concert to raise funds to help to build a community-based, equal opportunity school in Jacmel, Haiti, a port city on the southern coast of the island.

All proceeds raised will be donated to Fundacja Polska-Haiti. The foundation, created by Zofia Pinchinat-Witucka, a Haitian-Pole, has already raised more than $1 million to build the school in partnership with Caritas Poland. Specifically, the funds raised at our school will be used to develop educational programs, provide post-traumatic coping strategies, and sustain the school over time. The American School is fully committed to providing long-term support for the project.

The concert, which has the full backing of the US Embassy, will include an introduction from the American Ambassador and performances by the Orkiestra Reprezentacyjna Wojska Polskiego (a Polish military ensemble), concert pianist Maksym Rzeminski, soprano Urzula Piwnicka, and the Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, among others. The event is Black Tie and includes a Champagne reception and a raffle at intermission. Please refer to the website www.haitigala.com for an inside look at the program.

Tickets for the event will priced at 300 PLN for an individual ticket and 500 PLN for couples.

Beginning April 26th, reserved tickets may be purchased, cash only, from the cashier’s office at The American School of Warsaw.  Office hours are Mon. Tues. Thurs. Fri. from 8:30-4:30. All ticket sales will be an official donation to the Polska-Haiti Foundation and all buyers will receive a receipt with tax exempt status. We hope you enjoy the show!
